Cheray

Cheray

Certified Pilates Instructor

Meet Cheray, a skilled Pilates teacher who began offering private sessions and Bodhi classes at our original ALIGN location on Lake Austin Blvd in October 2019. After the establishment of ALIGN East Pilates Teacher Training Center in 2020, she moved there to continue teaching and complete her Pilates certification. In 2022, she shifted solely to ALIGN West after receiving her comprehensive certification. Cheray finds Pilates to be a challenging and fascinating form of exercise that always has room for progress and something new to learn. In her Pilates classes, she combines traditional Pilates moves with innovative variations to keep her clients engaged and challenged. She takes a playful approach to teaching and focuses on correcting and adjusting her students’ form during class. She aims to push her students to their limits and provide them with a full-body workout. For those new to Pilates, Cheray advises finding an instructor dedicated to their growth and willing to adjust exercises based on their fitness level. She firmly believes Pilates is for everyone and encourages beginners to embrace the experience.

Christina

Christina

Certified Pilates Instructor & Konnector Educator

Meet Christina. She has been practicing both classical and contemporary Pilates since 2013 and is comprehensively certified through Balanced Body. Christina believes Pilates is not just a physical workout but also a mental exercise that helps her to concentrate on herself and tune out everything else.

As an instructor, Christina uses anatomical and fun cues to help clients become more aware of their bodies and confidently execute the exercises.

She advises newbies to try different instructors to learn new techniques and cues that can enhance their Pilates experience.

Expect to leave Christina’s classes feeling sore, challenged, empowered, and strong. To her, strength is not just about appearance but also about the accomplishments achieved through Pilates or any other exercise.

Christina wants her clients to feel proud of their progress and think “Damn, that was intense, but I killed it!”.

Leah

Certified Pilates Instructor & Client Care Specialist

Meet Leah. She’s been a Pilates instructor since 2019 and started with private sessions at our West Austin location during her certification. When our East location opened in Fall of 2020, Leah began teaching both Pilates classes and private sessions there. She completed her Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates Certification in 2022.

Leah thinks that Pilates can enhance body awareness which is useful in daily activities, whether inside or outside the studio. Pilates can strengthen the body, prevent or heal injuries, and maintain efficient body movement for a long time.

She enjoys the challenge of practicing Pilates, as there’s always room for improvement in how the body moves.

If you’re a beginner in Pilates, Leah suggests not feeling intimidated by the equipment or techniques. She advises taking your time to become familiar with the equipment and starting with classes that focus on the fundamental principles of Pilates. Pilates is a workout that suits all fitness levels, and good instructors can modify the exercises to ensure your comfort and safety. The key is to appreciate the way your body moves.

Leah has an energetic and athletic teaching style that keeps the class moving at a faster pace. She maintains a positive tempo while emphasizing technique, alignment, and safety for her clients’ movements.

Her goal is to leave clients feeling energized, challenged, and excited to return to class. She loves it when clients tell her that class was tough but went by fast!
